On Saturday, April 30, 2022, the Creativity Shell will be hosting our 7th annual Gala/Student Fashion Show – Creativity Rocks “Carnival” at the Humble Civic Center.
The Creativity Shell is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use arts education programs that support creative mental health for the next generation of makers. The organization teaches arts education classes such as sewing, textile arts, cooking, building and other creative trades to students in their studios, libraries, schools, ABA therapy centers, the juvenile justice system as well as shelters that rescue children from homelessness and human trafficking. All classes are designed to teach children essential life skills, practical skills, and positive mental health.
If you have not been to Creativity Rocks, this show is absolutely the most inspirational event of the year! Students (as young as five) who are modelling in Creativity Rocks design and sew their own outfits based on the theme of the year. Hair and make-up services are provided by cosmetology students at Lone Star College and every other aspect of being in Creativity Rocks for the student/designers/models is to help students build confidence and self-esteem.
Funds raised from Creativity Rocks will be used to fund the Creativity Shell Youth Mental Health Campaign that will provide arts education programs for positive youth mental health.
Students modeling in Creativity Rocks do NOT need a ticket! An email will be sent out in January for students registered in our Spring 2022 semester for you to formal register them for the show.
